...wait where are we.

Since this one's a bit weird visually, I thought it'd be neat to do another set of process shots for the vote incentive this time. c: Vote to see it!

Why is no-one commenting on the humanoid shadows in what is apparently this man's mind?

Excellent visual metaphor; definitely would be interesting to see the "landscape" of various characters' minds! (maybe Jonan's got a graveyard, where he "raises" his memories & knowledge)

Further speculation time!

Ok, if the books/papers are memories, then the shadowy figures might be. . . emotions? Each figure is a different feeling? I'm thinking of an episode of the show Teen Titans (the older one, not the remake): Cyborg and Beast Boy accidentally get sucked into Raven's mind and all the different aspects of her personality (peppy, badass fighter, depressed, etc.)appear as Raven in different outfits.

They could also simply represent memories of people...? Eeeh, but we have the Jonan book... Hmmm, maybe they represent his consciousness? And if they catch Xira, he will be thrown out of the memory? Wild guessing all around.

Teen Titans didn't invent it; I've always loved that idea :)
