Yes! Xira's mindreading spell doesn't usually last very long -- we saw it fade out on page 5.22!

Okay, but Sev's shapeshifting spell and Jonan's lip seal spell also _USUALLY_ doesn't last very long, now do they? It was a perfectly logical assumption this was a miscast too.
In fact I am more surprised that it wasn't :D
