OH HEY had one more random thought I couldn't resist throwing out there: if there's one silver lining for Jonan in all of this, it's that his lips being sealed together ensures that, no matter how much pain he's in, he can never accidentally scream like a girl. (Whimpering may still be a problem, but those are easily concealed beneath a manly growl and lots of muttering.)
