In which Jonan finally begins to explain.
You may or may not have noticed, but Jonan has joined the cast page! To be honest I was waiting until I could get at least one picture of him with his hair not-wet. I've also made all the character songs into links, so if you were desperately curious what songs I associate with these characters you can now give 'em a listen! c:

Oh, doggonit, why did my comment not post. Oh well, rewrite time. I've probably forgotten half of what I said, but I'm sure I'll find other things to comment about instead. XD
Firstly, I love your borders for the flashback sequence! Most people go all dark and misty, but I like the contrast of the almost cheery parchment look. Also, I am slightly surprised that you did not add that zombie dog there to your list of creatures from this comic that you wish you had as a pet.
Could the girl possibly be a runewriter? She seems to have some markings on her hand, so maybe she is a new necromancer and felt like she needed to steal the equipment a more experienced necromancer. Although after reading Why?!?'s comment, I am now suspicious abotu her being from Esra's group. I GUESS WE WILL SEE!
And finally, who would have thought that younger Jonan would actually cute? I wouldn't have. And yet he is.
